Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin

  • Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo

  • Production: 5.500 bottles

  • Vineyard: Ciabot Mentin in Ginestra cru, Monforte d’Alba. Est, 440 m above sea level. Vineyard located on an east-west ridge with steep south and southwest exposures.

  • Soil Type: Helvetian formation soil that is extremely poor with a thin top layer. Clay is beige in color, very dusty and compact. Parental rock is limestone mixed with sandstone and clay.

  • Average age of the vines: Planted in 1965 to 1970

  • Vinification: Fermented on the skins for 20 to 30 days

  • Barrel program: 16 months barrique, 80% new oak, constant tastings allow the best barriques to be selected, then the wine is assembled, with 16 more months in barrel (50 hL)
