Gomez Cruzado Rioja Blanco

75% Viura and 25% Tempranillo blanco. All grapes come from the same plot, located in a high altitude area of Haro with stony alluvial soils with a mantle of pebbles at the surface and a deep limestone layer on a slight slope. Grapes are harvested by hand, then lightly pressed, with about 50% whole-cluster. Minimal use of SO2, spontaneous fermentation. All alcoholic fermentation occurs in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. A portion of the wine spends around five months in French oak (not toasted, steam bent) sur lie, and the remaining volume is also aged with on its lees in concrete tanks.
