Gomez Cruzado Rioja Cerro las Cuevas

A blend of 80% Tempranillo, 12% Graciano, 3% Mazuelo and 5% Garnacha sourced from estate vineyards in the areas known as “Las Laderas” and “Calitrancos”, where the vines date back 90 years and grow in very narrow area on a steep slope. Soils are rich in limestone, with pebbles on the surface in “Las Laderas” and more sandy soil in “Calitrancos”. Grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs in open-topped stainless steel tanks using native yeasts with soft punch downs. Malolactic conversion and aging occurs in 3800L French-oak foudres.
