Lenotti
Giancarlo Lenotti founded the family estate in 1906. Located in the picturesque village of Bardolino on the shores of Lake Garda in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Lenotti has produced estate bottled wines from their vineyards for over 100 years. The 1960’s were a period of growth when they bought vineyards in Valpolicella, specifically the villages of Negrar, Fumane, and Valgatara. Today Giancarlo’s grandson Claudio, runs the estate with his sister and his brother in the cellars. Claudio explains: “The hills of Bardolino and Valpolicella have gone through tremendous changes over the last 20 years, although winemaking here is based in ancient techniques, we’ve advanced the cellars with better facilities and winemaking knowledge, but consider our wines traditional, we blend Corvina with Rondinella and Molinara, and each variety is very important. We don’t take shortcuts in the cellars, our passito wines (Ripasso and Amarone) are made over a long process that takes tremendous care and work from harvest, drying of the grapes, fermenting, and blending.”
