La Spinetta
La Spinetta
In 1890 Giorgio’s grandfather Giovanni Rivetti left Italy for Argentina, hoping to return someday with enough fortune to buy land and begin farming. Giovanni was not able to return, but Giorgio’s father Giuseppe did. In 1977 the family took up residence at La Spinetta (top of the hill) in Castagnole Lanze. From there, brothers Giorgio, Bruno, and Carlo began a journey that still to this day hasn’t ended, along the way they have transformed their estates into benchmark producers of Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Moscato and for the last 10 years, Sangiovese. Worldwide, La Spinetta is known for producing some of Italy's finest wines. Central to their success is a fanatical devotion to great vineyards, old vines and low production, quality grapes through organic farming.
